Just the One { my boy }

FINALLY. His birthday was actually 37 days ago, but who’s counting? First we waited for the braces to come off. Then he was sick. And the weather has been less than cooperative. Hmpf. Well, Monday it was beautiful, he was feeling mostly better, and I finished my afternoon session with enough light left for us to run out and give it a try. Just a note: if you have ever tried photographing your own 15 year old son in kind of a hurry before the sun sets, you might be in for an uphill battle….rest assured it is the best kind of battle that involves me laughing so hard that most of the photos are out of focus. Ah well, as a mother I love those ones all the more. But we all know I am after just one perfect image and a bunch of “personality” ones to show us a little about him….so here you go….

Love this kid. I’m pretty sure he is the most fantastic teenage man/boy you will ever meet.

He is kind and thoughtful, smart, athletic, funny, and slightly musically inclined.

Family Session { issaquah family photographer }

Love these guys and have been missing seeing them on the semi-regular basis of her first year…you know, every 3 months or so until she turned one. It’s always a little sad for me and I go through a little withdrawal after first birthdays…but it does make it so exciting to see them again since the kiddos are so much bigger and have so much personality! Here she is at almost 2 1/2……such a little chatterbox…and this little family? Oh boy do they love each other and making each other laugh…

Double Digits { my girl }

It’s official. My baby is now in the double digits. Sigh. But as a bonus, we are less than a week late with her birthday photos (never mind the kid who had a birthday more than a month ago…perhaps him soon?).

What can I tell you about my baby? Well, she’s awesome, to put it mildly.

She is smart (reads like a champ and aced her last math test)

and funny (she makes us all laugh on a pretty regular basis)

and easygoing (she is usually pretty happy to go with the flow no matter how many curve balls we throw at her)

and athletic (she scored TWO goals in her soccer game this weekend)

and quite possibly the most considerate kid EVER (last weekend she did FOUR loads of laundry…washed, dried, and folded…since she knew there was no way I was going to have time to get it done. I’m pretty sure there may have been tears of relief when I found out everyone would have clean underwear for the week.)

Anyway, you can clearly see that she is a keeper and given more time, this list could go on and on and on, but I know you are really here to see her smiling mug and not to listen to me ramble on and on, so here you go….

Cute, cutie, cute!

I do always love a good serious expression….especially since it means you can see her beautiful eyes.

Of course, there is nothing better than her full on laugh….it’s kind of contagious.

And one that shows the full fabulousness of her “birthday photo outfit”….check out those pom pom legwarmers!

And the one that will be going on my desk…she just makes me smile, inside and out.

Now this year, due to scheduling challenges (you may be noticing a theme around here this year), we did 2 sets of birthday photos at once. You won’t see the other ones until the big guy turns 6 in about 2 weeks, BUT you do get a little preview and to see one of the best photobombs EVER…

Peer Pressure

So I am behind. In all things, not just the blog. And then this morning my good friend posted her homecoming photos and the guilt overcame me. So I am taking one minute to say here is my charming and adorable son and his equally (if not more so) charming and adorable date.

PS I’m pretty sure they were a little nervous/akward and uncomfortable with me taking their photos but I can guarantee they weren’t nearly as nervous as I was…

First of all…that’s one handsome devil and he cleans up so nice!

Aren’t they just the cutest EVER!!

But the best part….

They totally crack each other up. LOVE!

Family Session { Issaquah Family Photographer }

I have been trying to write this blog post for a few days now and have decided it can’t wait any longer so I’ll just say how much I LOVE these guys (a ton!) and how much I love seeing them every fall (a whole lot!) and then I’ll just be quiet and let you see the photos…..Happy Friday!
