So my biggest baby celebrated his sweet sixteen birthday not too long ago and we missed actually getting his birthday photos done in time for the big day. (Not much of a surprise given that his birthday is smack in the middle of busy photo season, soccer season, a month of 4 birthdays in our family, driver’s ed, marching band etc…) No worries. He is now a professional at birthday photos and we got them done in under 15 minutes…and that included him driving us to and from our location. He is truly an amazing human being in about a million ways and I couldn’t be prouder of him and all his many accomplishments.
Besides a few fabulous “regular” birthday photos, we managed to capture the true essence of my boy’s character.
He truly is part Dr. Evil (the hilarious and mischievous part):

and part Mr. Rogers (the so, so nice and so friendly part):

(Ok, he still looks mischievous in this one but he is doing the shoe thing even though he refused to sing the “won’t you be my neighbor” song…such a fun wrecker.)
If you know him at all, you will recognize the next few “faces” he is giving me….

By this point I am laughing so hard we are lucky any of the photos are even vaguely in focus….but that’s ok because it means he is also genuinely laughing/grinning/smiling and that is what I am after…
Here are the “real” birthday photos:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
Love this photo in particular and love this boy even more.

Augh! Love love love these so much!
Love these pictures! They’re so wonderful -and so are both the subject and the photographer!
Oh my goodness!!I love, love, love them both the evil ones and the actual birthday photos. I agree that he is amazing in so many ways and quite a good driver – he drove to school yesterday. I wasn’t scared for even one second.
