A Little Help, Please

As promised, here’s a peek at my newest “toy”.   Not so much a toy as an app.  It is this amazing wall display tool and I can’t tell you how much fun I have been having with it.  (You may be able to guess who else has been having fun with it by the end of this post.)  Here’s how it works…..

Step 1.  Using your phone (or an actual camera, if you feel like it) snap a photo of your blank wall with a piece of 8.5 x 11 paper taped to it.  Like this:

Step 2.  Sit back a relax while I play.

Step 3.  Vote for your favorite.

As a matter of fact, I could use your help deciding what to hang on my wall…..feel free to leave your vote in the comments.  Can I tell you how handy this has been already….I showed these ideas to John and his favorite is most definitely not the one I thought he would pick.  Can’t wait to see if you all have an overwhelming favorite or if the votes are all over the board.

(Have you figured out who was having fun playing with me?)

So clearly I was having way too much fun!  Let me know what you think and one lucky, random voter will win their pick of a prize…Starbucks gift card?  Homemade chocolate chip cookies?   A digital image from a previous session?  Oh the choices!

And obviously, not just fun for me….go ahead and start sending photos of your blank walls my way now!

The “yellow” girl seemed to have a good time playing with it. What fabulous photos of all of you/them. I personally want a copy of each photos. How to choose?! I do love wall #5 because of the variety and my eyes keep moving from picture to picture. So much to contemplate and notice. I’m sure whatever you pick with be great. Oh the choices.

What a neat idea! I love #5! You have too many sweet photos to choose from, so 5 gives you lots to look at!

#6. I love the lighting and the simplicity of two. :-)

I love #2 and #7 the most.
We have a new wall that we need your help with!!! I’ll tell you all about it in November…

Another Birthday Miracle

This time it’s my birthday miracle and even though it didn’t actually happen on or even near my birthday…I’m still claiming it as my favorite gift this year.

(And yes, faithful blog readers, that means it is also my darling boy’s birthday today but he has decreed no birthday photos shall be taken at this particular moment as he is scheduled to have his braces removed in 2 weeks and wants to wait until then…so never fear, you will see his smiling mug here soon!)

Some behind the scenes:  Last summer (like a whole year and a little bit ago) I decided I wanted to fancy up our bedroom a little.  It has been a work in progress and it is slowly getting to exactly where I want it…just a few things are left to do.  The most important one, in my opinion, is that we are still missing art on the wall above the headboard…and by art I mean photographic evidence of the fabulousness of our family, of course.  So cooperating through a family session was what my darlings gave to me for my birthday.  (Come back on Wednesday and you will get to see another new toy I have and you will have to vote on how best to display my new art!!)  Now you will need to understand that I had a vision that included a field full of tall, golden grass with lots of golden sunshine so even though these are not my usual style, they are EXACTLY what I was hoping for!  *Keep in mind the possibility of snakes in said field was on the forefront of 2 of our minds the entire time we were out there* AND in honor of the birthday boy, the slideshow music is one of his more recent compositions entitled “Ode to my Bed” because he is, after all, a now 15 year old boy who does enjoy his sleep.

What a lovely miracle. They are so happy-laughy-smiley. Great light! I want all the photos on my walls. The music is a wonderful accompaniment to the great photos of such beautiful people.

Beautiful! I would like a copy of Henry’s piece–I love it!

Barb - September 24, 2013 - 3:53 am

Beautiful pictures! Such a wonderful feeling. And I love the music! When’s the birthday boy going to make a CD? I want one!

Love these, as always. I’ve had them up on my computer all day, and the little miss is keeping me company. Love how you’ve captured her!

Love, love, love getting to see these guys every year!  Check out how cool the morning fog was in the first few images….it was gone by the time we were finished so I’m super glad we stopped by the pond for a few before it was too late!

Saved the best for last….I have one of these three from a few years ago where the boys are being dangled by their ankles.  They are too tall and too heavy for that now but looky what else dad can do!
