In our family we have lots of things we love do to at the holidays, like going downtown, which you will see in a minute. We also have lots of other traditions (or genetic defects, if you like) that we like to pass along. Welcome to the club, cutie pie!

Alright, so on her you may not be able to tell which lovely gene I am talking about (since she shares quite a few obvious ones) BUT this time it’s the glasses!! Isn’t she just the cutest? And they are purple frames! So jealous that there are all kinds of stylish frames for small people now. If I was a braver, stronger individual I would post a photo of me in my first pair of glasses but my fragile ego can’t take that kind of public humiliation. And if I was just slightly meaner, I would post one of her dad in his first pair (I’ll just say “John Denver” and leave the rest up to your imagination).
Now it’s time to get into the holiday spirit. We made our annual pilgrimage to see Santa this week. That involves a trip downtown, a ride on the carousel, snowfall at Pacific Place, and dinner at Johnny Rockets too. Here are a few snaps from our adventure….

This year they were handing out these cool flashing snowflake wands at Pacific Place during the snowfall…so fun! Though some people were taking the “wand” part a little serious and throwing all kinds of jinxes and hexes around.

What’s the best thing to do in an indoor snowstorm with Christmas music, a wand, and new slippy shoes? Twirling, of course.

Sometimes the only way to get a photo-hesitant (that’s the nice way of saying “grumpy with his auntie’s camera disturbing his fun) is to have his big cousin trick him a little. She says “I have a game for you. First you stand right here, and then you look over there.” Ha ha! Victory! (Some people might have been using their wand as a light saber…just saying.)

New scientific discovery of the evening….when you have glasses you can look directly up at the falling snowflakes and they don’t get in your eyes! Whee!

Then we headed outside. So festive.
The Annies having a little fun.

Shhh, don’t tell him he was looking at the camera again. And yes, some of these are a little blurry but then again, they were going up and down and up and down and I was trying not to be thrown from the spinning carousel while snapping away.

Her trusty steed…purple, of course.
And I know you haven’t seen the big guy yet and you are thinking maybe he didn’t come with us this year…but you would be wrong.

Can’t you see the holiday cheer and goodwill to all mankind on his face? (He was a pretty good sport about the whole thing though, he just doesn’t want there to be any proof that he really is a jolly little elf.)
Hope you all are starting to feel a little holiday spirit. NYC tomorrow for me! Hooray! Photos from a family session in Central Park and other random New York photos coming soon!

Love the photos – looks like you were having great fun! And Miss M, I love your nre glasses – beautiful!
