Last stop on the Hogwarts Express, a quick trip to Honeydukes. Everyone had a chance to stop by the candy shop to fill up their goody bags. I mean, who doesn’t love a bag full of candy? Here’s what we came up with….and we did try to be pretty authentic.
Borrowed Miss M’s big old IKEA shelf and in the process completely trashed her room. Sorry kid! But it turned out to be just right….hooray!
OK, so there isn’t really a “golden snitch” candy in the book…but aren’t they cute? I used those ferrero rocher chocolates because they were already gold but later found some gold cake pop wrappers at the party store that could have gone on a lollipop. I wondered if the kids might have liked lollies better?
So you can buy the “real” chocolate frogs, complete with the trading cards and everything, but they were out of my budget. So we got a frog candy mold instead and it turned out just fine….though I know you can’t really tell they are frogs from the photo….too gross to eat, if you want my opinion.
Luckily for me, Miss A’s birthday is super close to Halloween so you can buy things like disgusting gummy mice and eyeball candies super easily. (The gummy mice are completely vile looking and I couldn’t believe anyone would not only take one, but actually eat it too…yuck!)
So there you have it. That was our Harry Potter birthday party in a nutshell. I had so much fun and I think the kids did too. If I forgot anything or you have questions feel free to post a comment or send me an email.

I have been eagerly waiting for each installment of your Harry Potter party photos. WOW. You did an incredible job putting this together! I’m pretty sure you put more time and effort (and talent and creativity) into this than I put into my own wedding. Way to go! Are you sure you’re not an event planner on the side??

This is an absolutely fantastic party! Will you throw me a birthday party? Just ignore the fact that I’ll be hitting 30, okay?
However, I was wondering how you made the cards for all the candies. I’m not computer savvy at all and am hoping it is fairly easy, as my daughter has requested a Harry Potter and I love the idea of doing place cards with more authentic names, instead of just putting the candy out in dishes. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!
