Everything is starting to get festive around here. Our tree has been up for awhile but we had to wait to share this year’s ornaments til now because we actually made a few for friends too and didn’t want to spoil the surprise. But now that they have all been delivered we are free to share….
As you may remember, Harry Potter is a bit of a “thing” around here so we decided to make golden snitches for the girls and their friends.
We still had itchy fingers so we did a little more crafting than usual….
We made a bunch of little pom poms….
tried our hand at felt ornaments….
and made a few little owls. (Big fat thanks to Pinterest for all the lovely ideas…if you don’t know pinterest, you should…..though only if you have hours of time on your hands that you don’t know what to do with……)
Besides handmade, we did add a few other ornaments to our collection.
Some of you may recognize this ornament. Well, this year I was smart enough to order one of these for myself while I was ordering them for you.
Every year I encourage the kids to pick out their own ornament in the hopes that when they move out, they will have a bunch of their own and won’t steal all my favorites! This year the girls picked theirs out while we were in Florida…turtle and mermaid, perfect for Key West! The big guy couldn’t be bothered….too cool for that tradition now I guess. No worries, I will just pick one for him and then he’ll be sorry.
And there she is. Ready and waiting for Santa.
