Calamari anyone?

So, I’ve told you before that we have the BEST preschool teachers ever…I mean, “tang”aritas for Cinco de Mayo??  It doesn’t get any better than that….well, at least that’s what I thought, until yesterday. Wait for it….Teacher Sandie brought in a REAL octopus for octopus day….granted, it wasn’t alive, but still, WOW!!  It was the neatest thing to see the kids’ reactions….some had absolutely no interest, some were fascinated but unwilling to touch…like rubber necking at a car accident….very much “Thank goodness it’s not me but wow, check it out…oooh, that looks baaad!!”  And then there was the surprise of the day, my good buddy, whom I adore, does not generally possess the most adventurous spirit when it comes to the unknown, but you should have seen him with the octopus….oh wait, you can….

Ok, so that one was really cute….if you have a queasy stomach, now is the time to go make a cup of tea!

Isn’t that the coolest?? The kids got to check out the suckers on the tentacles, the mouth, the fake eye spots….and only if they really wanted to! My child said no thank you very much! Love you Teacher Sandie and Teacher Beth! The rest of you can only imagine the lovely aroma permeating the classroom by the end of the day….only truly dedicated individuals would suffer through that for the good of their students!

OK…I REALLY want to go to preschool where an octopus gets to visit…What amazing, slimy fun that must have been.
Talk to you soon,
Becky :)

That’s disgusting…in SUCH a cool way! I hope when Z is in preschool, he gets to play with a dead octopus!

I seriously can’t believe he touched that dead thing. Go Mr. Adventure!!
