Yesterday you got a little peek into what the first day back at school might have looked like for me and today you get to see how the other half lives. This is a pretty exciting year around here as we now have 2 middle schoolers and a 3rd grader. Each of them are excited (or not) about different parts of their up coming year. The one that makes me laugh the most (and you know how much I love to laugh) is that the big guy is pretty psyched that his little sister will be riding the bus with him this year. He has dubbed them the “bus buddies”. I only wish I had a video clip of him saying it, it’s pretty hilarious…but these first few shots will give you a pretty good idea about how my darling son (and daughters, for that matter) have totally inherited their mother’s cheesiness. I give you “the bus buddies”…

OK, enough goofing around for this early in the morning already. (These were taken before they had to get on the bus at 7:05…brutally early for the teenage boy-type kid…so amazingly good humor on their parts!)

And off they went….
Several hours later, it was time for the littlest to head out. I kind of think she is going to enjoy the whole “big kids leaving early, having mom to herself every morning” routine this year….I know at least I will be enjoying some special Annie-time!
Here’s how we started…not so excited to have her picture taken, especially since this is the first year she’s had to do it all by herself. (I, however, love this photo.)

But pretty soon her ham & cheese side came out….

Can’t tell you how much I LOVE the toothless grin…I will be sad when she’s got a full set of teeth again! (The poor kid is missing so many teeth it is surprising she can still eat…she’s lost 2 in the last week alone…)

Just because I love that one….
Another bonus of being the only kid left in the morning….photos with your parents! (Wait, is that really a bonus? Maybe not for her, but definitely for me! Hooray!)

And looky who hung around to help get everyone off to an awesome start for the new school year…

Hooray! Hope everyone else had as successful a first day as we did!

Bus buddies! I love it. Don’t they look happy to be setting off together. The other one is adorable with her toothless grin, and what a treat to get the parents in the photos this year. Hooray for 1st day photos.
