Last Friday I met up with these two lovebirds for an engagement session. Can I just tell you how nervous I was…I mean, I get nervous before every session, but this was over the top.
1) I didn’t really know them at all.
2) The weather was being super difficult and unpredictable.
3) I don’t have a lot of engagement session practice.
4) The groom was only in town for the weekend.
No pressure or anything.
Didn’t need to be nervous at all….
1) Now know these guys way better and absolutely love them. So funny (and adorable) and in love.

2) Weather was uncooperative and unpredictable, but not these guys….they were such troopers. Rain much? Makes for the ultimate “northwest” engagement photo. (I can’t tell you how much I love this shot…makes me laugh just thinking about how wet we all were and that the minute we’d had enough and were packing it up, the rain stopped and the sun came out…common theme for the day.)

3) Loved every minute of it (perhaps mostly because of my fabulous subjects) and am now moving engagement sessions way closer to the top of my “favorite things to shoot” list. Think it would be fun to do with the already married types too….like for an anniversary….

4) Since theses guys are doing the long distance thing for now and the groom was only in town for the weekend, I was worried about the weather and not being able to reschedule. Turns out I should have been appreciating that they hadn’t seen each other since February (though I’m sure they aren’t nearly as happy about it) and that he had only just flown in late the night before. No encouragement needed in the “look adoringly at each” department.
Finally, my favorite shot of the day (and the groom’s idea…love that).

A combination of “young love” with a little “absence makes the heart grow fonder”.
Just so you know, because you can’t tell in the black and white, those are some seriously dark, menacing clouds in the background…and yes, we did get soaked again.
Thanks so much for such a fun morning I really enjoyed every minute of it. You guys are the best!
