Sector 9

The final birthday installment.

Sector 9.  Doesn’t that sound like something out of a dystopian novel?  (Perfect for this birthday girl who loves a good dystopian read.)  Well it’s not (or maybe it is and I just haven’t read that book yet) but in this case it is referring to a skateboard company.  In our neighborhood (which is the most awesome neighborhood EVER) we have what is known as the EAC, and they aren’t talking about the East Australian Current (for all you Nemo fans).  The Eastside Asphalt Contingency.  It’s our own little skater gang.  And I don’t think you will be too surprised when I tell you that it was actually started by the biggest kids in the neighborhood….the dads.  Anyway, when the weather is good you will find a couple dads and a pack of kids tearing it up out front.  Wheels of any kind are welcome but skateboards are king.  Up until now, there have only been 2 longboards at our house and sharing has been a necessity.  Well now there’s one more board to go around.  The birthday girl saved and saved and is now the proud owner of her own board which I am proud and a little amazed that she has been sharing with everyone.  (It was kind of hilarious when she and 3 friends and I hit the  surf shop to pick it up….perhaps not your typical clientele?)  Anyway, enough chatter, here’s the proof…

And a few of some of the rest of the gang….
