Happy Days

OK, so I’ll admit yesterday was not my favorite day ever.  I was tired (like, rolled over with a steamroller kind of bone-aching tired) and I was hungry (all day, no matter what I ate, and I am not the world’s most pleasant mommy when I am hungry) and my day ended with an actual physical altercation between two of my lovely offspring (charming…and you can bet I was a real peach about the whole thing).  All in all, not a stellar day.  So now I will be sharing my bizarro prescription for fixing a bad day.

1.  Spend $3 on itunes buying really random 80s pop songs and turning them up loud in the car on the way to pick up the children (see, already good…no bickering in the car…..yet) and sing them all really loudly and off key.  Here’s how random:  Level 42, Swing Out Sister, and the Blow Monkeys.  I will be impressed if any of you can name any of their songs without googling them.  (Well, my sister might get one???)

2.  Make cookies.  Duh.

Though I was sadly (and obviously) not my tack sharp self and missed the timer on both batches, so cookies = slightly more crunchy than I like.  Boo.  Did not actually stop me from eating them though.

3.  Knit self a quick, one evening, infinity scarf out of super soft yarn while watching sitcom re-runs and eating aforementioned cookies with hot chocolate.

Yup, things are looking up this morning already (as I sit here in my pajamas, with my coffee and my cozy scarf on, quietly singing along to my wacky songs).

P.S.  I am in complete denial that it is currently snowing and there is snow on the street.  If you know me at all, you will know the angst that is stirring in my heart right now.

P.P.S.  Both photos courtesy of my iphone…one of them taken this morning before my coffee, so don’t judge.

P.P.P.S  Happy Thursday to all of you.  It’s bound to be a better day today, right?  (Fingers crossed for a fist-fight-free kind of day at our house.)

P.P.P.P.S.  I am working on a contest (with prizes!) and an super awesome special for February….so stay tuned and keep checking the facebook page, as that is where I will post both of them.
