And the party goes on….
Once everyone had gathered their school supplies they headed up to the Divination tower for a cup of tea with Professor Trelawney. (Blog post title “Divine” could refer to divining the future or the absolutely divine Professor Trelawney). Professor Trelawney was AWESOME! She came dressed to perfection and taught the entire class completely in character. I’m sure I couldn’t have managed that!
First she poured everyone a cup of “tea” (ok ,so I knew they wouldn’t drink real tea….that’s just apple juice with some food coloring).
Their “tea” cups were those clear plastic cups and there were symbols drawn on the outside bottom.
Once they finished their “tea”, they had to check their textbook to find their symbol and read the meaning. (Divination text book content from here, though I did reformat and add the sketches so they could find their symbol easily.)
To end class, Professor Trelawney foretold the birthday girl’s future in her crystal ball. This was, by far, my favorite part of Divination class. Professor Trelawney did a fantastic job of being in character and foretelling many grim things to come. The birthday girl on the other hand, cackled and giggled her way through the entire thing. Huge thank you to our fabulous Professor Trelawney…you are completely awesome !!!
