My baby turned 9 this week. NINE. And for the last week and a half or so the weather has been working against us. I have had a big, fancy plan for her birthday photos in my mind for awhile and every time we have had a few minutes to spare, it has been pouring. Well yesterday I had just had enough. I threw caution to the wind (and risked her being tardy to school…yikes!) and we ventured off our regular path, camera in hand. So much for my big plans. Turns out I don’t mind one bit as I love these images almost as much as I love her.
And boy do I love her.
Here are a few things you should know about her:
1. She is my snuggler. Hurrah for me!
2. She takes her socks off the minute she takes her shoes off.
3. When she laughs, you can’t help but laugh too. (For her, laughing is a full body experience. Not just her mouth or her face, ALL of her laughs. It is the best thing going.)
4. Her biggest dream is to, one day, swim with dolphins.
5. She will be running in the kids’ marathon on Thanksgiving weekend this year and has already finished running the first 25 miles, way ahead of schedule. That’s my girl!
6. Eat your heart out Phil Keoghan! (In case you don’t know who that is…we are huge Amazing Race fans around here (see this post for proof) and Phil, who is the host, is known for his mad eyebrow raising skills) This kid can match him, eyebrow for eyebrow, not to mention the rest of her fabulous and hilarious, over the top, Jim Carrey-esque, expressions.
7. She is just all around awesome (and I’m not just saying that because I am her mom).
